Teams Section

In the Teams section of the Staff App, you can organize your supporters by common interest or geographic location.  Supporters create and self-manage their own Interest Teams.  Geographic Teams, in turn, are setup and managed by your organization’s staff.  You can automatically assign supporters to their respective Geographic Teams as they join your cause.

Interest Based Teams

Supporters can collectively self-organize in Interest Teams.  These teams are founded on shared characteristics, professions, hobbies, coalitions, companies, or other general interests.  For example, "Teachers for Candidate Smith" or "ABC Corp. for Arcticause".  Both supporters and staff users can create Interest Teams.  As a permissioned staff member, you can create an Interest Team from the V3 Staff App.

 

Create an Interest Team:

  1. Before creating an Interest Team, confirm your Team Settings in the Platform Config section of the V3 Staff App
  2. Navigate to the Teams page
  3. Click the "+Add Interest Group" link
  4. Give your Interest Team a name and description
  5. Assign an Interest Team owner (this can be yourself or another supporter / staffperson)
  6. Configure your preferred privacy settings
  7. Click Save

Geographic Teams

Geographic Teams allow your supporters to organize based on a shared location at the county or state level.  You can easily create new Geographic Teams in V3's Staff App.  V3 allows you to activate two levels of Geographic Teams (sub-level and top-level teams) so that national organizations can organize at both the state and county levels.

 

Create a Geographic Team:

  1. Before creating a Geographic Team, confirm your Team Settings in the Platform Config section of the V3 Staff App
  2. Navigate to the Teams page
  3. Select the Geographic Teams tab
  4. Select "+Add Geographic Team"
  5. Give your Geographic Team a name and description
  6. Assign an owner to your Geographic Team (this can be yourself or another supporter / staffperson)
  7. Select Team Type (top-level team or sub-level team)
  8. Click Save

Easy Team Management

Your Geographic Teams and Interest Teams appear in separate tabs and are listed in dashboards for easy viewing and management.  Here you can see how many members are on each Team and can filter by Team at left.  From the overview page, you can also click inside to edit Team Leaders, Team information, etc.
